Hi, I’m Harrison, but you can call me Harry.

A couple of years ago, I became obsessed with the idea that physics is the closest thing we have to a universal language for reality. It underpins everything: motion, force, light, time, energy, matter, and all the invisible phenomena that collaborate to generate our existence.

Since then, I have spent a lot of time reading about quantum mechanics, general relativity, electromagnetism, robotics, and all of the beautiful things that make life feel like I am observing a magic show.

Electromagnetism in particular feels like magic. You run current through something, a magnetic field appears, and suddenly the invisible world has opinions.

I have experienced that magic my whole life. I have used it, depended on it, lived inside it.

But I have never really built with it.

So I ordered a moteus developer kit, and I am starting with one electric actuator. One axis. One man’s dream to turn electricity into controlled motion.

This is not a breakthrough. It is not a product.

It is a build log disguised as a blog.

I’ll write about the parts, the mistakes, the measurements, the wiring, the things I misunderstand, and the wins that hopefully end with something on my desk moving on purpose.
